6th Dar Al Ber Quran & Sunnah Award saw 1,300 contestants 06/01/2016 Of 1,300 contestants from 50 private and government schools in the emirate of Ajman, only 147 have made it and cleared the final tests of the 6th Dar Al Ber Quran and Sunnah Award.H.E. Khalfan Khalifa Al Mazrouie, Chairman of Dar Al Ber Society, said they were so grateful to H.H. Shaikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman, for his ceaseless support to the charity activities of the Society in the emirate, “mainly this six-year award.”H.E. Abdullah Ali bin Zayed, Executive Director of Dar Al Ber Society, said they increased the budget of the award, sponsored by H.E Sheikh Dr. Majid Bin Saeed Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Ajman Ruler’s Court, by 25 percent this year. New branches proposedKhalid Abdul Wahhab Al Khaja, Manager of the Dar Al Ber Society, Ajman, said the Contest, which will hopefully be turned into an Award, has proposed the addition of new sections, spanning the memorisation of 10 and 20 parts, and full Quran. “The senior management of Dar Al Ber Society in Dubai will look into the recommended expansion and the change of the contest into an award as of the 7th edition next year owing to the great impact of the competition on the students.”Moderation and toleranceThe annual contest, launched in collaboration with the Ajman Education Zone, is aimed to connect young people with the Holy Quran and Sunnah, and build up a new generation based on the tolerant and moderate method of Islam in line with the directives of the UAE prudent leadership. “The Award helps students make good use of their free time as well.”Loyalty to rulersNoting, he said it is of great importance to show loyalty to rulers as per the holy Quran and Prophetic Sunnah. “Dar Al Ber is following an integrated strategy that pays full attention to the Holy Quran and Sunnah, as is the case with this Award.”Concluding ceremony H.E Sheikh Dr. Majid Bin Saeed Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Ajman Ruler’s Court attended the concluding ceremony which was held at the centre of the culture, youth and community development ministry in Ajman in the presence of crowds of senior officials, dignitaries, students and their parents.As per the organising committee, up to 1,300 contestants, including students of all grades, KG kids, as well as teaching and administrative staff, participated in the Award this year.H.E. Shaikh Majid has honoured the 147 top winners, along with the ‘Excellent Family’ of whom three children seized advanced positions in the categories this round. He also honoured the sponsors, arbitrators, and members of the organising committee.Dar Al Ber has also honoured H.E Sheikh Dr. Majid Bin Saeed Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Ajman Ruler’s Court, for his auspicious sponsorship of the award over the last six years.InitiativesAl Khajah stated that the Award had earlier launched a special logo and website for the award this year. “All the details of the award, including its conditions, registration procedures, due chapters and Hadiths to be memorised, were available online, and even on CDs, and in print.”New rewardsThe organising committee has also specified new rewards for new categories, he elaborated. “These included the ‘Excellent Government School’, the ‘Excellent Private School’, and ‘The Excellent Family’.”In-kind rewards have also been distributed to all the 427 male and female contestants who have cleared the initial qualifying tests and sat the final examinations, Al Khajah said. “Participation certificates were also presented to all the 873 non-winning competitors, no matter they were qualified for the finals or not.”
