H.H. Shaikh Fatima bin Zayed bin Saqr Al Nahyan, the wife of H.H. Shaikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman has honoured the top female winners of 6th Dar Al Ber Quran & Sunnah Award.

The concluding ceremony was held at the centre of the culture, youth and community development ministry in Ajman which was thronged by a crowd of senior officials, dignitaries, winners and their parents.

1,300 contestants
The 6th edition of the popular annual award saw 1,300 contestants, spanning male and female students along with teaching and administrative staffers from 50 government and private schools across the emirate of Ajman.

147 winners
However, 147 male and female competitors have made it and cleared the final tests, said Khalid Abdul Wahhab Al Khaja, Manager of the Dar Al Ber Society, Ajman.

Objectives
“The annual contest is aimed to connect young people with the Holy Quran and Prophetic Sunnah, and build up a new generation based on the tolerant, moderate and straight method and path of Islam in line with the directives of the UAE prudent leadership. “The Award helps students make good use of the free time as well.”

Noting, he said it is of great importance to show loyalty to rulers as per the holy Quran and Prophetic Sunnah. “Dar Al Ber is following an integrated strategy that pays full attention to the Holy Quran and Sunnah, as is the case with this Award.”

Initiatives
Al Khajah stated that the Award had earlier launched a special logo and website for the award this year. “All the details of the award, including its conditions, registration procedures, due chapters and Hadiths to be memorised, were available online, and even on CDs, and in print.”

New rewards
The organising committee has also specified new rewards for new categories, he elaborated. “These included the ‘Excellent Government School’, the ‘Excellent Private School’, and ‘The Excellent Family’.”

In-kind rewards have also been distributed to all the 427 male and female contestants who have cleared the initial qualifying tests and sat the final examinations, Al Khajah said. “Participation certificates were also presented to all the 873 non-winning competitors, no matter they were qualified for the finals or not.”

Al Khajah said the Society was so grateful to H.H. Shaikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman, for his ceaseless support to the charity activities of the Society in the emirate, mainly this six-year award.
