Al Mazrouie: ‘Reading Nation’ drive meets development needs ,Bin Zayed: Initiative channels charity work towards scientific research 06/06/2016 Dar Al Ber Society has paid tributes to the new promising Ramadan campaign launched by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai to encourage reading.The ‘Reading Nation’ drive, meant to distribute five million books to children in refugee camps and schools around the world, is a new wave of H.H. Shaikh Mohammed’s endless benevolence that targets the entire Muslim and Arab countries.Khalfan Khalifa Al Mazrouie, Chairman of Dar Al Ber Society, said the move is part of the prudent leadership’s series of initiatives which are aimed to seed, promote and encourage the culture of reading and the importance of knowledge scientific research across the Muslim and Arab nations.“Such innovative drive reflects the scientific trends of the UAE prudent leadership and how they are fully aware of the significance and value of science and knowledge in the progress and civilization of any nation.” Abdullah Ali bin Zayed, Executive Director of Dar Al Ber, said the initiative will help provide five million books to children in refugee camps and schools around the world.“The ‘Reading Nation’ campaign is part of the Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives and is another step through which the UAE expresses its passion for serving humanity.”Out of the total five million books, the initiative will provide one million books to support educational programmes that are carried out by UAE humanitarian organisations abroad, he added. “Two million books will be specified to knowledge and science at refugee camps and another two million books for libraries in 2,000 schools in the Arab and Islamic world.”The kind gesture, he pointed out, sheds light on the smart, deep and well-studied trends of the UAE prudent leaders who truly understand the requirements of thorough and sustainable development in the Islamic and Arab world.“The initiative will channel charity work in the country in a way that supports knowledge and scientific research as being the right way to help poor and disaster-hit peoples worldwide,” he said, passing on good wishes to the UAE leadership, people, Arab and Muslim nations on the advent of the holy month of Ramadan.
