Dar Al Ber Society, as part of its drives in support to the ‘Year of Giving’ initiative launched by the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has successfully collected up to Dh19,433,369 for building 156 mosques locally and abroad.
Khalfan Khalifa Al Mazrouie, Chairman of Dar Al Ber Society, said the ‘Build a Mosque’ drive they have recently launched has not only been a big success but has also far exceeded the set target.
“The 156 mosques, to be built across the UAE and in a number of Muslim countries around the globe, are the fruit of our ‘Build a Mosque’ initiative which came to a close on January 27.”
Dar Al Ber was initially targeting the construction of only 90 mosque against a total value of Dh10 million, he added. “However, the nationwide campaign has been a big success, and our reps have managed to collect Dh19,433,369.”
The 37-year-old charity association, based in Dubai, has always been very keen to positively respond to and support the UAE prudent leadership’s ‘Year of Giving’ initiative, he explained. “This is mainly for the benefit of poor and low-income people.”

Abdullah Ali bin Zayed, Executive Director of Dar Al Ber, said they have maximized their advertising efforts on the ‘Build a Mosque’ campaign on the Abu Dhabi Holy Quran and the Noor Dubai radio stations.

“More advertisements have further been posted on social media and advertising boards across the UAE to attract and encourage more contributions to the different size and capacity mosques in support to the ‘Year of Giving’ initiative.”
