The Needy Families Committee distributes more than 5.2 million dirhams of humanitarian aid during the first five months of this year.

The Needy Families Committee in Umm Al Quwain, affiliated with the Dar Al Ber Society, provided during the first five months of this year 2021, humanitarian aid and charitable initiatives in support of the poor, needy families and people with limited income to a total of 5,275,217 million dirhams.
Mr. Yasser Mohamed Al Taheri - Director of Communication and Marketing Department at Dar Al Ber Society, stressed the importance of the charitable, societal and humanitarian role played by the Needy Families Committee in the local community, by supporting the poor and needy families and providing them with their needs and assisting them with the burdens of life. Stressing its success in performing its mission towards the underprivileged families and the Emirati society. This in turn enhances family and societal stability and contributes to community development.
14 Avenues of Charity:For his part, Ali Hassan Al-Asi, Head of the Needy Families Committee said: of the Dar Al Ber Society; 619 cases of needy people in a number of emirates benefited from the committee's assistance, during January, February, March, April and May of this year, while the aid covered 14 basic and vital service areas.
It included the treatment of 26 patients who were unable to pay the costs of their treatment, the purchase of medicines and the provision of medical devices at a cost of 362,293 thousand dirhams, the payment of school fees for 85 students, at a value of 595,422, and the payment of university fees for 44 students with aid amounting to 669,556.
Also the payment of rental aid for 95 cases, to a value of 976,030 thousand. 436,230 thousand for the maintenance of 18 homes for people with limited income, used for construction and maintenance. The furnishing of a number of houses for the benefit of the needy at costs of 108,500 thousand dirhams, paying off debts of 16 defaulters and settling their financial debts to a value of 458,240 thousand dirhams.
Campaign List:Al-Assi added that the list of aid in the past five months also included the provision of necessary household appliances, material assistance to a number of the needy, the provision of monthly food support to eligible families registered with the committee and the payment of electricity bills for 27 cases. Also support and assistance for 29 of the people of determination segment, support and assistance for 14 widows and divorced women, as well as extending a helping hand and charity to 217 urgent humanitarian cases worthy of assistance. The value of the aid distributed for the above-mentioned items amounted to 1,668,938 thousand dirhams.
