Eng. Khalfan Khalifa Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dar Al Ber Society, said on the occasion of the International Day for Humanitarian Action, which falls yearly on 19th August, that the UAE constitutes, in our contemporary world, ‘The Homeland of Human Solidarity’, an oasis of tolerance and love, and represents a vast field for the fusion of human efforts, from various cultures and identities, with their policies based on tolerance, brotherhood and moderation.
Extending helping hands and benevolence to the people of the world, coupled with balanced and conscious work in building human civilization, and with the vision and directives of its wise leadership, and the good and authentic heritage of its people, based on love, cooperation with others and upholding the values of goodness and humanity.
In the same context, Dr. Mohammed Suhail Al Muhairi, CEO and Managing Director of the Dar Al Ber Society, stressed: “The UAE provides a stream of charitable projects, humanitarian aid and support for development projects for the world and its people, the needy and the afflicted, represented by its charitable and humanitarian institutions and bodies, which qualified it to be at the forefront of the countries of the world in regards to the volume of foreign aid, relative to the volume of income.
Al Muhairi pointed out that Dar Al Ber adopted the same approach to Emirati charity through packages of projects, initiatives and continuous charitable and development aid, over nearly four decades of its work, since the end of the seventies until today. All of which the poor people and vulnerable groups benefit from. Including specifically, at costs estimated at hundreds of millions of dirhams, which is the fruits of donations, charity and giving of the people of the Emirates and those residing on its land, which reinforces and consolidates the values and concepts of ‘Human Solidarity’ in the world.
