Dar Al Ber spends 338.2 million dirhams in a project to sponsor and care for orphans over 5 years

Dar Al Ber Society spent 338 million, 216 thousand dirhams on projects to sponsor orphans and care services during the period from 2015 to 2020, while the number of orphans, who are sponsored by the Society worldwide and who are provided with integrated care, reached 38 thousand and 957 orphans, distributed amongst 25 countries worldwide, with a total cost of 321 million 755 thousand.
Dr. Muhammad Suhail Al Muhairi, CEO and Managing Director of Dar Al Ber Society, stressed that the Society places sponsoring orphans and their care at the top of its priorities, since its inception and the beginning of its work in the paths of goodness and humanitarian work, about 42 years ago.
This is a implementation of the teachings and values of our true religion. As well as in order to establish the policy and direction of our country and in response to the directives and vision of our wise leadership, in a way that reflects the system of values and traditions of the Emirati people and it represents the faith and orientations of the founders of the Society, the donors and its management and employees.
Dr. Al Muhairi explained that Dar Al Ber has a clear and well-established strategy in sponsoring and caring for orphans, via various projects and the Society's statistics in this field are very important and reflect the value of this charitable work and noble humanitarian activity, in light of its great reward from Allah. Pointing out that the society’s orphan sponsorship strategy constantly seeks to provide innovative and distinguished services to develop the orphan care sector and improve its services.
In the same context, the Assistant Chief Executive Officer of Zakat and Community Development Sector at Dar Al Ber, Mr. Yousef Al Yateem, said that the Society's records and statistics from 2015 to 2020 showed that it sponsors 478 orphaned and poor families in a number of countries in need, at a cost 7,925 million dirhams, also support for orphanages in a number of African countries to sponsor and care for their orphans, at a cost of more than two million and 920 thousand dirhams.
Also it provided educational and therapeutic aid, amounting to one million and 47 thousand dirhams, and the Society spent more than 600 thousand in the project 'Teach me, let me earn my Livelihood', within the framework of projects to sponsor and care for orphans around the world and take care of them, in cooperation and coordination with the strategic partners of the Society in the countries in which they live. Care for 'People of Determination' amounting to around one million and 169 thousand dirhams.
Al-Yateem stressed that the Society is working to expand support for orphanages in the most needy countries and regions in the world, stressing the position of orphans in the Dar Al Ber Society and the extent of its interest in them, which is reflected in the amount of spending for the benefit of this segment of society around the world. As well as in the projects of sponsoring and caring for them and providing their needs from the donations of donors and philanthropists and the great and tireless efforts made by the Society and its teams in order to serve the orphans.
