The Dar Al Ber Society announced the launch of its annual Ramadan campaign on a large scale this year, starting today, Wednesday, with the aim of achieving a total charitable revenue of 140 million dirhams, of which 65 million dirhams are from zakat, and the rest is distributed from donations of donors and philanthropists, and supporting partners, public and private sector institutions, and society in general towards construction and seasonal projects, support for education projects, orphans projects and medical treatment projects.
Tens of thousands benefit from Ramadan projects
Dr.Muhammad Suhail Al Muhairi, CEO and Managing Director of Dar Al Ber Society, said that the new Ramadan campaign bears the slogan ‘Al Ajwadi’ (being the most generous) in Ramadan, and begins on the 16th of this March, corresponding to the 11th of Shaban, and continues until the end of Ramadan and Eid Al Fitr. Tens of thousands benefit from it, in the Emirates and worldwide, including the poor, the needy, those with limited income, orphans, the sick, widows, divorced women, workers and others.
Season of Goodness
Dr. Muhammad Suhail Al Muhairi, during a press conference held yesterday, Tuesday at the ٍSociety’s headquarters, said: “The campaign aims to support charitable work and promote humanitarian initiatives, in the season of charitable work for the year (1443 AH - 2022 AD), which includes the blessed month of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr, and to meet the needs of people with disabilities. As well as those with limited income in the Emirates, and the poor and the afflicted in the world, during the holy month, and among the most important initiatives and projects of the Society, during the Ramadan season, is the provision of Iftar meals to fasting people, the provision of Eid clothing to orphans and children of needy families, the distribution of Zakat al-Fitr to the deserving, and many various charitable projects, which It is presented by Dar Al Ber during Ramadan.
Ramadan Package
The CEO of Dar Al Ber indicated that the ‘Ramadan Package’ project, launched by the Society this year, is diverse and includes providing zakat to those who deserve it, which is spent via legitimate banks, and the breaking the fast project, at an estimated cost of 5 million dirhams, benefiting more than 333,000 fasting people inside the UAE, distributing zakat al-Fitr to its beneficiaries, according to Sharia regulations, with a budget of 2 million dirhams, from which 100,000 beneficiaries inside and outside the UAE, including the needy, families and people with limited income.
Al Muhairi added: This year's Ramadan projects also include the Eid Clothing project, at a cost of 1.2 million dirhams, which is expected to benefit 3,350 families inside and outside the country, in addition to the Ramadan Food Basket project, which is distributed before Ramadan, during the month of Shaaban, to Needy families, at a cost of 2.5 million dirhams, benefiting about 10,000 needy families inside and outside the country.
External projects
According to Al-Muhairi, Dar Al Ber has allocated a package of charitable projects for the poor and needy in countries of the world, such as building mosques, digging wells, building orphanages, centres for memorizing the Holy Qur'an, sponsoring orphans and many vital projects for the benefit of the needy and the poor in cooperation with 32 accredited bodies, of the Society's partners in 26 countries.

Dar Al Ber Society, through its CEO, sent a message to donors and the people of philanthropy, to contribute to supporting the Ramadan charity campaign, so that the Society could extend a helping hand and charity to the deserving and needy segments, through several channels for donation, which are the Society’s website and its smart applications, and via the representatives of Dar Al Ber in the commercial centres in the various emirates of the country, or by visiting the customer service centres, or by calling the toll-free number 80079.
