Dubai, UAE: Dar Al Ber Society (DABS) has celebrated 200 of its registered local orphans as part of the 7th edition of the ‘Loyalty Day for Mother of Giving’ ceremony held at the Zabeel Park, Dubai.

The function, annually held under the sponsorship of the Wife of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice president and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, H.H. Sheikha Hind Bint Maktoum Bin Juma Al Maktoum, is an appreciation to her tireless support to the DABS orphans.

The ceremony, supported by a number of government and private sectors, and civil society entities, saw the presence of 200 orphans from the emirates of Dubai, Ajman, and Ras Al Khaimah.

Abdullah Ali bin Zayed Al Falasi, Executive Director of Dar Al Ber, said the UAE prudent leadership spares no effort to boost all fields of giving. “Such tireless effort has been recently crowned with the ‘Year of Giving’ presidential initiative.”

Though the annual ceremony has been sponsored by the mother of giving for seven straight years, a number of national companies have always been there to share the moment with Dar Al Ber orphans, he added.

“The list of supporters included Dubai Electricity and Water Authority as Main Sponsor, Khansaheb as Silver Sponsor, along with other sponsors, such as the Dubai Municipality, represented by the Dept. of Public Parks and Horticulture, the Dept. of Environment, and the Dept. of Waste Management.”

The list also included the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, Dubai Health Authority, Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services, Dubai Police, and Al Ameen Service, whereas Zabeel Studio and Burjeel Foundation were the media sponsors of the event.
Indicating, Al Falasi said that Dar Al Ber is committed to supporting the orphans as instructed in the Holy Quran and Sunnah, and in line with the directives of the UAE prudent leadership.
The interesting programme, run by Hisham Al Zahrani, Deputy Head of Community Service Sector, and Emirati anchors Abdullah Ismael and Naji Khamis, started with the national anthem, followed by a recitation of the Quran.
Major Juma Al Suwaidi with the anti-narcotic department of the Dubai police then gave a presentation on drugs, followed by a cultural show by Abdullah Shukri of Al Ameen Service.
The orphans present were then entertained with motorbikes and drones shows by Skydive Dubai, followed by a funny K9 Dog show, and in-between quizzes, with balloon flying everywhere. Finally, Dar Al Ber honoured the sponsors of the event.
