Dar Al Ber Society spent more than 206 million and 541 thousand dirhams during the first half of the current year 2022, benefiting 2.9 million people around the world from the charitable and sustainable development projects, including 1,752.113 million who benefited in the first quarter of this year, and 1,164.230 million towards these projects were during the second quarter, and the number of projects reached 22,517 thousand sustainable humanitarian charitable development projects, which were launched in the UAE, and in several regions in needy countries around the world.

Domestic and foreign achievements
Dr. Muhammad Suhail Al Muhairi, CEO and Managing Director of Dar Al Ber Society, indicated that the new charitable development projects were distributed among 8,901 projects that started in the first quarter of this year, at costs amounting to 50,208,678 million dirhams, compared to 13,616 projects in the second quarter, at a cost of 51,894,504 million, indicating the completion of some of those humanitarian development projects, while others are still under construction and will be completed according to the time plan set for them.

Dr. Al Muhairi pointed out that during the first six months of this year, the Society built 2,144 mosques, including 904 mosques in the first quarter, 1,240 mosques in the second quarter, 8,121 water saving projects, 3,252 projects in the first quarter, and 4,869 in the second quarter. 3,433 charitable endowment projects, 1,344 projects in the first three months of this year, 2,079 projects during April, May and June. 4,929 projects supported for productive families, 2,016 projects in the first quarter, and 2,913 projects in the second, and the number of medical projects in the first half reached 5,285 Medical projects, including 1,385 projects in the first quarter, and 2,515 in the second.

The Society also implemented its seasonal projects in 37 countries in the world in the continents of Asia, Africa and Europe, in cooperation with 32 associations of the Society's partners in those countries. The aid came in the form of food baskets and the implementation of the project for fasting people, Zakat al-Fitr during the month of Ramadan, feeding 34 poor villages, and Eid clothing, with expenses amounting to 4,740.165 million dirhams.

Humanitarian relief
Dar Al Ber contributed to supporting the initiatives and requests of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation within the framework of humanitarian relief campaigns, in a number of afflicted countries with the least development and sustainability, with a total cost estimated at 9,718,160 million dirhams, which included support for the afflicted in Syria, and the distribution of Ramadan baskets to the needy in Iraq, support for the 100 million meals campaign from the Emirates, and support for well projects in Nigeria, in cooperation with the UAE embassies in those countries due to their need for humanitarian support.

Projects for orphans and people of determination
Dr. Muhammad Al-Muhairi confirmed that the Society's spending is in the field of care and rehabilitation of orphans and their families, people of determination and needy students, building orphanages, investment projects for orphan families 'Teach me to earn my living', and study aid, both inside and outside the country, it amounted to 47,228,175 million dirhams, during the first half of this year, and the number of beneficiaries of these projects reached 68,893.

Local aid
Dar Al Ber, represented by the Department of Zakat in the Projects and Zakat Sector, provided local aid during the first half of 2022, amounting to 42,751,555 million dirhams for the benefit of 346,541 beneficiaries. The disbursement of the first quarter amounted to 17,443,958 million dirhams of Zakat funds received by the Society, to meet the needs of 2,052 humanitarian cases of the poor, the society’s spending on local aid in the second quarter amounted to 25,307,597 million, for the benefit of 344,489 beneficiaries in 11 charitable fields, which are treating patients, paying housing fees, housing rent, electricity bills, food baskets, and a project feeding the poor, alms from the sacrifices, the Iftar project for the fasting, Eid clothing, Zakat al-Fitr, and general expenses to support the needy and deserving.

Al Muhairi called on donors and people of philanthropy to continue to support the humanitarian and charitable projects and initiatives launched by the Society to help the largest possible number of the needy and the poor, especially, stressing that providing aid to this segment of society is linked to the amount of support we expect from donors and philanthropists through their donations and support for projects and the humanitarian and charitable launches by Dar Al Ber Society in various humanitarian fields, pointing out that the Society has great confidence in the response of the charitable and merciful hearts to alleviate the suffering of the needy and poor, thus embodying a shining image of the spirit of solidarity that distinguishes the UAE society.
