Dar Al Ber Society has undertaken the treatment, support and provision of the requirements of 2,206 eye patients, at a total cost of 1,004,986 million dirhams, in 20 countries spread over 3 continents around the world, Africa, Asia and Europe, during the third quarter of 2022 as part of a humanitarian initiative, launched by the Society to extend a hand of mercy and help to eye patients, the poor and needy, and to combat blindness.

On the occasion of World Sight Day, Dar Al Ber confirmed that its global charitable campaign carries out operations to remove cataracts from poor patients, providing glasses for those in need, and a medical white cane for the blind, whose cases require their use in their daily lives.

Dr. Muhammad Suhail Al Muhairi, CEO and Managing Director of Dar Al Ber, explained that the Society's initiative has so far included 14 countries in Africa, 5 in Asia, and one country in Europe, noting that the initiative performed 1,152 surgeries in 10 countries, across the three continents, those are Somalia, Albania, Niger, India, Indonesia, Uganda, Benin, Burkina Faso, Thailand and Togo, at a cost of 808,775 thousand dirhams.

Dr. Al Muhairi indicated that the initiative also provided glasses to 645 eye patients in 13 countries, between Africa and Asia, including Egypt, Sudan, Indonesia, Uganda, Togo, Ivory Coast, Tajikistan, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Mauritania, Thailand and Nepal, with a value of 139,5081 thousand dirhams.

The Dar Al Ber initiative, according to Al Muhairi, provided the medical white cane, intended for the blind, to 409 blind people in 4 countries, namely Sudan, Egypt, Uganda and Togo, at a cost of 56,703 thousand dirhams.
