The Committee for Needy Families in Umm Al Quwain, affiliated with the Dar Al Ber Society, has completed 14 charitable projects and humanitarian initiatives in 2022, with the aim of helping needy families and those with limited income, and providing their material and living needs, in Umm Al Quwain and a number of emirates across the country, with total costs amounting to 15,190,129 dirhams.

Dr. Muhammad Suhail Al Muhairi, CEO and Managing Director of Dar Al Ber Society, confirmed that the Committee for Needy Families in Umm Al Quwain represents one of the aspects of the society and a welcoming door to voluntary community humanitarian work. It has a bright history and cumulative achievements in the charitable and humanitarian work sector. It was established in 2005 and has been serving people for over 17 years.

For his part, Ali Hassan Al-Assi, Chairman of the Needy Families Committee, said that the committee provided its assistance in vital and basic fields, chosen very carefully, and in the light of field studies so that its projects and initiatives cover health, education, housing, marriage, family, electricity bills and social segments in need of support.

As well as to reflect positively on family, social and psychological stability, and lead to the consolidation of social security and safety, and the promotion of sustainability and community development, as the number of beneficiaries reached 2,041 beneficiaries during 2022.

And Ali Hassan Al-Assi confirmed that the projects of goodness, benevolence and mercy, which were implemented by the committee in 2022, included covering the expenses of aiding 60 patients, which includes treatment, the purchase of medicines and medical devices, the payment of rent and house maintenance for 286 families with limited income.

71 families assisted, included housing restoration and partial construction in some cases, payment of debts owed by 43 financially needy, settlement of debt legal cases and financial receivables on their behalf, payment of tuition fees for 532 students from underprivileged families, and university fees for 103 students.

Ali Al-Assi indicated that the 2022 initiatives also included furnishing the homes of 58 families, providing household and electronic appliances for the benefit of 93 families, providing financial aid to 124 families, paying electricity bills owed by 49 families with limited income, whether for their existing or new homes.

Also providing marriage assistance for 15 grooms, support for 8 people of determination, two groups of orphans and widows, 8 new converts, monthly food support for 16 families, in addition to general expenses and various aids that benefited 422 cases, and Eid clothing for 151 children from needy families.
