The extensive campaign covers the Emirates and 13 countries in the continents of Africa and Asia, in cooperation and coordination with 17 partners and accredited bodies in those countries, and includes two main campaigns, which are the campaign to slaughter sacrificial animals and distribute their meat to those who deserve it, by following Shariah guidelines, and the campaign to provide Eid clothing to the needy and those with limited income as well as Children and young people.

This year’s campaign also includes several specific initiatives, namely the ‘Prisoner’s Relief’ Initiative, through which the financial liabilities owed by prisoners with civil lawsuits are paid off, and supporting cases of chronic diseases through the Society’s radio programs, Providing food initiative, mosque construction projects and drilling wells.

In the Qurbani campaign, Dar Al Ber aims to enhance and stimulate the process of implementing the religious ritual, and to serve the families of the sacrificers in light of the best available services, while adhering to the concept of quality, and implementing smart services to reach the required goals and to facilitate it for those who wish to perform the ritual.

Dr. Muhammad Suhail Al Muhairi, CEO and Managing Director of the Dar Al Ber Society, said: The Society has allocated a budget of 1.1 million dirhams to provide sacrifices and give them to those deserving of them inside the country and 4.1 million dirhams outside the country, explaining that the categories of the sacrifice project, which can be participated in by the sacrificers. It includes slaughtering and distribution outside of the country, for 350 dirhams, slaughtering outside the country and distribution within it, for 370 dirhams as well, and slaughtering and distribution inside the country, for 850 dirhams, of Australian livestock.

He pointed out the possibility of increasing the budget and number of sacrifices targeted in the humanitarian charitable project, which depends on the size of the donations of donors to the project, stressing the importance of this project and its religious and humanitarian value, which is represented in alleviating the suffering of the poor and needy, by meeting their urgent needs for meat, especially due to the spread of economic crises and the rise in global prices, especially with regard to foodstuff.

Dr Al Muhairi pointed out that the sacrifice campaign, outside the country, aims to provide 13,795 sacrifices, of sheep and goats, benefiting 148,500 beneficiaries and needy people, and 11,500 beneficiaries inside the countries.

Dr Mohammed Al Muhairi said that the countries covered by the Qurbani campaign, in addition to the UAE, are 12 African countries: Uganda, Gambia, Somalia, Benin, Togo, Ghana, Egypt, Senegal, Malawi, Nigeria, Chad, and Kenya, compared to one country in the Asian continent, which is India.

Dr Al Muhairi confirmed that the Sacrifice Project has accompanied the Society throughout its journey extending for about 45 years, starting from its founding in 1979, until today, while Dar Al Ber is keen on the sustainability of this religious project and continuing its implementation in the best processes, and applying the highest standards of transparency and governance in procedures. As well as the financial and administrative requirements related to the project, and the health and regulatory requirements and quality specifications for the process of slaughtering sacrificial animals and distributing their meat, approved by the competent authorities in the country.

The CEO of Dar Al Ber Society added that during the Eid al-Adha season, the association also launches its second charitable project, the distribution of the "Eid cladding" budget of 150,000, with the number of beneficiaries within the country reaching about 3,600 families, while the value of the contribution to the humanitarian project starts from 40 dirhams.

According to Dr Mohammed Al Muhairi, it is possible to participate and make donations for the campaigns through the channels approved by the Dar Al Ber Society, which is the Society’s website, and the representatives in commercial centres, markets, and public facilities, and its customer service centres in the emirates of Dubai, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, and Ras Al Khaimah.
