Dubai, UAE: As many as 250 students of different grades, nationalities and schools in Ajman are to sit the initial qualifying tests of the 7th edition of the Dar Al Ber Quran & Sunnah Award.

The popular award, organised on an annual basis, have already started at the centre of the culture, youth and community development ministry in Ajman in the presence of high eminent scholars and preachers.

Khalid Abdul Wahhab Al Khajah, Manager of the Dar Al Ber Society branch in Ajman and chairman of the Award supreme organising committee, said the contest is aimed to connect young people with the holy Quran and Sunnah, in line with the directives of the UAE prudent leadership.

“The Award is also meant to build up a new generation based on the tolerant and moderate teachings and principles of Islam, and will hopefully help the students make good use of the free time as well.”

A number of panels have been formed to perfectly and professionally achieve the objectives of the award as much as possible, he added.

“The cultural committee is one of the most important panels assigned to set up the syllabuses that will help inspire the young generations, and develop their awareness about important rulings, ethics, values, spanning obedience to the Rulers, and loyalty to the nation.”

The supreme organising committee has formed four arbitration subcommittees for male and female contestants to ensure transparency and fairness, Al Khajah elaborated.

“The Fiqh or jurisprudence tests are to be held in writing over two days while the initial tests are to continue for seven days, following which the winners will be qualified for the final tests.”
