Dubai, UAE: Dar Al Ber Society, committed to vulnerable segments of the society, has announced sponsoring 2,794 new orphans from 22 countries in Asia and Africa in the first half of the year 2017.

Imran Muhammad Abdullah, Head of Charity Projects Sector, said they managed to sponsor 1,117 new orphans in the first three months of this year.

“Those are compared to 1,677 new orphans registered in the second quarter of the same year.”

Dar Al Ber Society has been paying much attention to the orphans since its inception in 1399H/1979, he added.

“We spare no effort to secure the orphans’ financial, social and spiritual needs as advised in Islam and in view of our traditions and the directives of the prudent leadership.”

Hussain Murad Al Balooshi, Manager of Orphans and Families Department, said the countries covered in the orphans projects spanned Lebanon, Syria, Sudan, Somalia, Egypt, Palestine, and Mauritania.

“The list of other countries included in the orphans projects are Togo, Mali, Senegal, Burundi, Uganda, Niger, Ethiopia, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Ghana, Tanzania, Azerbaijan and the Philippines.”
